Yes – when we act in the portfolio manager capacity, which is the case for our Private Investment Management (PIM) accounts. Jim Gibbons is a PIM Portfolio Manager and, therefore, acts in a fiduciary capacity. However, this is not always the case for standard brokerage accounts. Through our transparent model, we strive to inform clients whether our advisors are working as fiduciaries or not.
We work with executives and companies in emerging industries, especially in cannabidiol, cyber, and computer software. We are currently accepting accounts with investable assets of $750k (excluding real estate).
We work on a fee-basis rather than by commission. Our annual fees are based on assets under management (AUM) and are billed quarterly.
On average, our fees tend to be lower than 1% on the total AUM. Although fees vary based on the size of the portfolio and wealth management needs, most portfolios under $1 million are charged 1% of AUM, while accounts over $1 million receive breakpoints –fees are often reduced when portfolio sizes reach $2 million, $3.5m $5 million, $7.5m, $10 million, $15 million, and $25 million. Fees on portfolios over $25 million are negotiable.
Fees for an advisory program include advisory services, performance measurement, transaction costs, custody services, and trading. Fees are based on the assets in the account are assessed quarterly. There is a minimum fee per calendar quarter to maintain these types of accounts.
Our fees include access to your financial advisor and the other members of the Alpha Pointe Capital team. You will receive holistic retirement planning, annual reviews, and a customized portfolio based on your goals. We actively manage your portfolio and monitor our advisory accounts, and we are willing and available to meet with your other trusted financial professionals, such as your attorney or CPA.
